Door Surveys

Fire door surveys are important because they help ensure that fire doors perform as intended and prevent the spread of fire and smoke. They can also help identify issues that need to be addressed, such as damaged components, misaligned doors, smoke seals that are out of place or damaged, and hinges that are not secure, fire rated or in good working condition

For multi-occupied residential buildings in England over 11 meters in height, quarterly checks of all fire doors in communal areas must take place and annual checks of all flat entrance doors that lead to communal areas.

Communal buildings must also have their fire doors surveys, these include hospitals, restaurant kitchens, schools, and care homes and must be checked every six months for structural damage or deformation – any faults or damage identified should be rectified immediately.
